Even if, to complement -or replace- it, the best solution would have been to ba able to choose several hrtf filters. No calibration depending on the headphone used is offered. The head-tracking feature is rather toyish and inefficient.įor $49, I'd do the same choice again (while still remaining open and attentive to comparable products by competitors), but for its current price.I am at a place where I would really like to up my mixing game, but unfortunately live in an apartment with thin walls and also am forced to have my setup in a position which sounds TERRIBLE (I'm sure many of you are familiar with the situation). I have a decent pair of cans (Beyerdynamic DT 880s), but have come to the realization that my mixes don't translate as I would like them to (as many of you probably would expect because I am mainly using headphones). I have looked into a few of the virtual speaker/room simulators out there, but haven't read a lot of reviews on Goodhertz CanOpener. I know Goodhertz makes pretty good plugs, but I was wondering if anyone has used it and could possibly compare it to Focusrite's VRM? I'm really considering that one, because I like the simplicity of just having a plugin on my master bus, and the simplicity of the plugin itself.

View the manual for the Behringer NX3000 here, for free. I know Waves NX is fairly new, and I'm leaning away from that one because while the webcam/head tracking feature is cool, I don't want it to consume any cpu resources (as I need them for plugs!).

Cloud Orbit S tracks the tiniest head movements nearly 1000 times a second to provide total immersion as head tracking technology stabilizes in-game audio environments to deliver pinpoint sound localization. This manual comes under the category Receivers and has been rated by 2 people with an average of a 9.4. This allows you to hear in-game audio in its most realistic form. Motorola NX-7510 Series Installation Manual Download. I know some people have had good results with Focusrite's VRM, but I'd like to avoid hardware and just get the simpler Goodhertz plug if it sounds good and results in mixes that translate well.

I also have a horrifying and terrible mixing room. The room is a perfect 10ft x 10ft cube (that sucks). My monitors are not centered in the room either (bad idea, but cannot avoid it). I have some sound absorption, which takes out the echo, but the sound in that room is crap - especially bass. The bass frequencies are too powerful for the room, so they ricochet all over (what you hear is the reflection).

However, my mixes, which are primarily demos sound VERY good. I try to mix at a volume where the sound doesn't have the chance to reflect. I only want to hear the monitor, not the room. The louder you go, the crappier it sounds, and the more difficult it becomes to hear details and separation. If it sounds good low, it will sound good loud.Ģ. It really helps to hear separation on the VRM. I make sure that the distance between my left ear to the left monitor is exactly the same as the distance from my right ear to the right monitor. Because I can't center them in the room - that's at least a relative centered position - and at low volume, it's ok that it's in a crappy position in the room.
